Mustang High School Teacher Wins Magic 104.1 Teacher of the Year

(Mustang, Oklahoma – May 13, 2019) – Mustang High School (MHS) Freshman Success teacher and girls basketball coach, Kevin Korstjen, has been recognized as Today’s Magic 104.1FM’s Teacher of the Year.  

Each week, Today’s Magic 104.1FM in Oklahoma City recognizes outstanding teachers throughout the metro. Weekly winners receive prizes from Huntington Jewelry, Half Priced Books, Digiprint and Troops to Teachers.  From those nominated throughout the year, three Teacher of the Year finalists are chosen for a public vote, and Mr. Korstjen was crowned the winner. Principal of MHS, Dr. Teresa Wilkerson said in his nomination that “Mr. Korstjens is always there for his students, and he coaches on top of teaching and being a dad of four. He always has a good attitude, no matter the circumstances, and is a valued member of Mustang High School.” “Thank you to all that voted,” Mr. Korstjen said when reached for comment.  “I am so grateful for you taking the time to do it and so grateful for this opportunity.” As part of his recognition, he will receive $1,000 from American Fidelity Assurance.
