Mustang Public Schools held its annual job fair on Thursday, April 11 at Mustang High School where 83 candidates walked through the doors, a slight increase from last year.
Mustang Public Schools looks to recruit, hire and retain the most qualified personnel to provide optimum educational opportunities for Mustang students. Chris Tobler, director of human resources, reported that the district has been working hard to post positions efficiently, and has already hired over 40 certified individuals for the 2019-2020 school year.
“The quality of our schools is evident by the rapid growth in our community. Mustang Public Schools cares about its employees and it is a fantastic place to work,” Tobler said. “We have moved to increase our base teacher salary to $40,000 per year and we accept 100% of out-of-state teaching credit toward salary determinations.We are a regionally and nationally recognized school system on the rise.”
With these moves, Mustang is more than $3000 above the state minimum teacher pay. the district has also been recognized as a Top Oklahoma Workplace for the past two years.
